Origin was filmed in quarantine in the summer of 2020.
Music was an escape for me during quarantine. For Origin, I wanted to make a film with music as its script, allowing the melody to guide a strange and wordless story. With actor Connie Shi, I set out to make something that embraced the limitations of lockdown without feeling inhibited by them and bring that surreal vision to life. Origin was an official selection at the 2022 London Music Video Festival, the 2021 Austin Music Video Festival, Rome Music Video Awards, Munich Music Awards, the Prague International Film Awards, and was nominated for a New Creators Award for Best Music Video.
