Looking at our planet from a distance, a speck in an expanse of space and time too massive to comprehend, it’s easy to feel small and insignificant. But as the physicist Brian Cox said: "We are the cosmos made conscious. Life is the means by which the universe understands itself."

What a profound significance that is.

Horizon is a music film, capturing the cosmic ballet of the planets, their moons, and the infinite beyond. All the animations in this film are based on the actual planets, nebulas, and other cosmic phenomena as they are—in all their strange and beautiful wonder—using maps from NASA of the real planet surfaces and satellite photographs to guide the scenes.
